The MDP recruitment campaign remains open for New Recruits.
For all New Recruits to the MDP, your initial posting will be as an Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) with the opportunity to train for specialist positions once in the Force, where opportunities exist.
The MDP is committed to building an organisation which is representative of the community we serve and is therefore keen to positively encourage applications from female candidates and from minority and other under-represented groups. Given that the MDP is a national Police Force, applicants who are flexible about their preferred location may be offered a job sooner than other applicants; this applies, in particular, to applicants prepared to serve in the Aberdeen and Thurso areas of Scotland.

The Pre-Application Notice to Candidates should be read by all applicants. For those applicants who may require a reasonable adjustment at assessment, the form should be completed and returned with the application form.
Where applicable, applicants should refer to guidance on the competency framework and how to prepare and complete the Competency Based Questionnaire (CBQ) element of the application form.
