MDP Support Local School Fayre

Ministry of Defence Police and the Emergency Community recently supported a local school fayre.

The event organised by the school’s Parents Council in June saw the community enjoy various stalls and activities while raising funds towards extra curriculum fun. Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) PC Omand attended in support.

Also in attendance were MDP colleagues from HMNB Clyde who were invited to attend to engage with pupils and parents about what they do on a day-to-day basis. Officers from the Clyde Marine Unit (CMU) attended with a variety of kit, police vehicle and a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) for the children to see first-hand, ask questions and of course utilise as a photo opportunity.

Other agencies including Police Scotland, Royal Navy Police, Scotland Fire and Rescue and the Coastguard were there, all to paint a picture to illustrate what it’s like to work for the emergency services.

It was a great success, with positive feedback from the local families and children who attend the school.
