Remembrance 2024

Each year, our colleagues from across Defence gather at a range of events across the country to reflect and remember those who have come before them.

This year we mark the 106th anniversary of the end of World War I.

As we reflect on past sacrifices, we unite in recognising our shared values and the freedoms defended by all who served. This Remembrance, we come together in gratitude and solidarity, honouring both our Force history and those who secured our future.

Deputy Chief Constable Pritchard led the MDP in two minutes of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives serving our nation.

The local service was an opportunity for MDP to join representatives from across the Defence in remembering the sacrifice of our colleagues. DCC Pritchard joined other members of the RAF Wyton establishment in laying a wreath in the memorial garden.

Remembrance Sunday Parade: Civil Services Contingents

Each year, our colleagues from across Defence gather at a range of events across the country to reflect and remember those who have come before them. This year we mark the 106th anniversary of the end of World War I.

On Sunday 10 November, PC Ho and PC Carrol represented the MDP and attended the Remembrance Sunday Parade, participating as part of the Civil Services Contingents.

The Civil Servant Contingents consisted of HMPPS, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Police Service, Coast Guards, Royal Naval Auxiliary Service, and other civilian services gathered at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.

Our officers attended the rehearsal on King Charles Street, before they were inspected by the Deputy Prime Minister (Angela Rayner).

After being spoken to by the Deputy Prime Minister, they marched on to Whitehall and formed up opposite to the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, along the street of Whitehall. They remained there until the entirety of the ceremony concluded and returned back to the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.
